A SOLDIER survived a gun attack, although wounded, along the national highway in the province of Zamboanga del Norte, the police reported Friday.

Shot and wounded was Private First Class (PFC) Felixberto Diaquino, 42, who is assigned with the Army’s First Infantry “Tabak” Division, the police said.

Diaquino was shot around 6:20 p.m. Thursday in the village of Sta. Felomina, Dipolog City, the capital of Zamboanga del Norte province.

Investigation showed the victim was driving his motorcycle on the way home to Purok Bularan in Barangay Miputak, Dipolog City, when waylaid by a lone gunman driving a motorcycle, the police said.

The suspect pulled out a handgun and repeatedly shot the victim, who was admitted at the Dipolog Medical Center, the police said.

The suspect, who fled after the incident, remained unidentified. He is wearing a black shirt, red short pants, red baseball cap and black backpack, the police said.
