THE police have leads as to who could be the ones responsible in the abduction of a Chinese businesswoman and her daughter in Basilan province.
The victims identified as Dina Eraham, 45, and her daughter, Yahong Tan, 19, were seized Thursday evening at the Port Area village, Isabela City, by at least 10 gunmen clad in camouflage uniforms and bonnet masks.
However, Isabela City police commander Superintendent Albert Larubis withheld further details of the investigation citing the identities of the suspects are still under verification.
Larubis only hinted that the suspects are among the notorious groups in Basilan province.
Larubis said that the suspects have not yet made any demands nor called the victims’ families since the time they seized the victims.
He said the victims don’t have capability to pay ransom since they are only into a small time type of business.
The victims were seized while they were inside the family-owned videoke house along I. Magno extension in the village of Port Area, Isabela City.
The victims are natives of China but had been staying in Isabela City for about 10 years already.
A Crisis Management Committee has been activated to address the problem, Larubis said.
