THE police have filed charges against an alleged drug pusher they have arrested in an east coast village before the Zamboanga City Prosecutor’s Office, a police official announced.
Charged with violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, is Eddiefil Remoroza, 34, a resident of Sangali village, 25.34 kilometers east of Zamboanga City.
Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) spokesman Chief Inspector Ariel Huesca said Remoroza was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 9 p.m. Wednesday at Sitio Daap in the village of Sangali.
Huesca said Remoroza allegedly sold a sachet of shabu for P300 to an undercover policeman that resulted in his arrest.
Huesca said the arresting team confiscated from Remoroza three pieces of P100 “marked bills,” two sachets of shabu and other prohibited drug paraphernalia.
He said Remoroza was specifically charged with violation of Sections 5 and 12 of Article II of RA 9165.
The suspect availed of his right for preliminary investigation by signing a waiver pursuant to Article 125 of the Revised Penal Code and remained in police custody for 15 days while awaiting resolution of his case, Huesca said. (Bong Garcia)
