Pimp falls, 2 minors rescued

THE police have arrested a suspected pimp for human trafficking in the province of Zamboanga del Norte.

The Zamboanga del Norte Police Office (ZDNPO) reported two minors aged 16 and 15 were rescued when the suspect was arrested for violation of the Republic Act 7610 otherwise known as the special protection of children against abuse, exploitation and discrimination act.

The police identified the arrested suspect as Chinelyn Gadingan, 21, of Katipunan municipality, Zamboanga del Norte.

The two rescued minors were reportedly Grade 9 students in the municipality of Katipunan, the police said.

The police said the suspect was arrested around 11:30 a.m. Sunday by policemen from Katipunan town accompanied by social worker personnel in a follow-up operation in the village of Galas, Dipolog city, the capital of Zamboanga del Norte.

The police said the suspect, before her arrest, has already brought the two minors to meet customers in Dipolog City on three occasions.

The suspect is detained at the Katipunan police headquarters and appropriate charges have been readied against her, the police said.
