Aquino’s impeachment ‘a great loss’ to Filipinos-A A +A
Tuesday, July 29, 2014
AUTONOMOUS Region in Muslim Mindanao (Armm) Governor Mujiv Hataman said the Filipinos will suffer a great loss once President Benigno Simeon Aquino III will be impeached.
This was the reaction of Hataman on Tuesday regarding the impeachment complaints filed against President Aquino, saying that the country will lose a good leader.
Hataman, citing the Chief Executive as a good leader, added that President Aquino does not tolerate the wrongs committed even by his allies and supporters.
“Where can they find a President who has managed to curb corruption in our country? Where can they find a President who does not tolerate the misdeeds even that of his allies?” Hataman asked.
The governor said the filing of impeachment charges against the Aquino shows that there is a working democracy in the country and that “it is part of the democratic process.”
He, however, said the impeachment complainants should also learn to accept defeat if and when their case will not prosper.
Meanwhile, Hataman said that the protesters will not stop holding protest rallies even though they have worked together with the seating President in an election.
Hundreds of protesters held protest rally and even tried to breach the barricade set-up by the police along the Commonwealth Avenue while President Aquino was delivering Monday his State of the National Address before the joint session of Congress at the Batasan Pambansa complex.
Hataman said the protesters will never stop until such time that “they are the ones running the affairs of the government.” (Bong Garcia)
