THE Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) filed charges on Friday before the City Prosecutor’s Office (CPO) against two persons who were arrested recently in an anti-drug campaign in this city, an official reported Saturday.

ZCPO’s officer-in-charge Senior Superintendent Angelito Casimiro said Saturday that charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 have been filed against Keneth Jimenez and Noel Lorico.

Casimiro said that Jimenez, 18, and Lorico, 35, were arrested by operatives of the Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Force last Tuesday at BAT Compound along Governor Camins avenue, this city.

Casimiro said the arresting team confiscated from the suspects a sachet of shabu, a mobile phone and other prohibited drugs paraphernalia.

Casimiro said Jimenez was charged for violation of Sections 5 and 11, while Lorico was charged for violation of Sections 5 and 12 of R.A. 9165.

The two respondents are presently detained at the Police Station 11 (PS11) headquarters since they have availed of their right for a preliminary investigation and signed a 15-day waiver pursuant to the provision of Article 125 of the Revise Penal Code, Casimiro said.
