Top most wanted person falls

AUTHORITIES have arrested a top most wanted person who is facing 92 counts statutory rape case in Misamis Occidental, the police said Sunday.

Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9) Information Officer-in-Charge Inspector Dahlan Samuddin the arrest of the suspect, Maximo Berojuela, 56, has ended the latter’s 15 years of hiding.

Samuddin said Berojuela was arrested by the police’ Task Force Manhunt around 2:30 a.m. Saturday in the village of Pogan, Concepcion, Misamis Occidental.

Samuddin said Berojuela is listed as the top most wanted person in the municipality of Mutia, Zamboanga del Norte.

The municipality of Mutia is an adjoining town of Concepcion, which falls under the political jurisdiction of Misamis Occidental province.

Samuddin said the suspect’s arrest came after the Task Force Manhunt of Mutia police command received reliable information that the suspect had been hiding in the village of Pogan, Concepcion for the past several years already.

The suspect has a standing warrant of arrest issued by a Court in Dipolog City, the capital of Zamboanga del Norte, Samuddin said.

The suspect was taken and detained at the police headquarters of Mutia, Zamboanga del Norte after he was arrested, he added.
