THE National Housing Authority (NHA) and the City Government of Zamboanga will spearhead the turnover on Monday, April 10, of 537 housing units built through the Zamboanga City Roadmap to Recovery and Reconstruction (Z3R).
The Z3R is the blueprint for the rehabilitation of the areas severely affected in the 21-day September 2013 siege.
The 537 housing units were constructed at Vale Vista Subdivision Phase I in the village of Kasanyangan, east of Zamboanga city.
The turnover ceremony is set at 8 a.m. Monday at Mayor Vitaliano Agan Coliseum in the village of Tetuan.
City Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar said it will be the second awarding and turnover ceremonies for Valle Vista Z3R housing project since it was first opened last September 28, with the transfer of the first batch of occupants composed of 487 families.
She said the Valle Vista Subdivision Phase I is undertaken by the Bendimil Construction and Development Corporation, covering a total of 828 housing units for a total project cost of P167.817 million.
The site covers a total area of 77,361 square meters, according to Salazar.
She said the affected families that will be transferred to their permanent houses are mostly coming from the Masepla Transitory site in the village of Mampang while a number come from Philippine Tuberculosis Society Inc. (PTSI) transitory site, Rio Hondo temporary shelters and several others who are home-based internally displaced persons (IDPs).
The home-based IDPs are those families displaced during the September 2013 siege that are temporarily staying at the residence of their relatives.
Salazar said the other housing units are still being constructed with May 4, 2017 as the target completion date of the revised contract.
