THE Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula has neutralized 564 drug personalities since the resumption on March 6 of the anti-drug campaign, dubbed as “Double Barrel Reloaded.”
Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula Director Billy Beltran said that 227 of the 564 neutralized drug personalities were arrested in separate anti-drug operations across the region.
Beltran said that 26 of the 227 arrested were drug pushers and 201 were users.
Beltran said 334 of the 564 neutralized drug personalities appeared and surrendered to the different police stations in Zamboanga Peninsula.
Beltran’s office has jurisdiction over the provinces of Zamboanga Sibugay, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga del Norte, and the cities of Zamboanga and Isabela.
Of the 334, Beltran said 319 of them were drug users and the remaining 15 were pushers.
He said three of the total 564 neutralized drug personalities were killed as they resisted the lawmen during anti-drug operations.
He said they have so far seized 432 sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as “shabu,” and eight firearms during the conduct of the Double Barrel Reloaded.
He urged the public to continuously support the anti-drug campaign of the government initiated and spearheaded by President Rodrigo Duterte.
He said they have so far conducted 9,886 house visitations in the entire region since the resumption of the anti-drug campaign. (SunStar Philippines)
