German found dead in Zamboanga del Norte

Monday, June 19, 2017

A GERMAN national was found dead in his home in the province of Zamboanga del Norte, the police said Monday.

Police Regional Office Zamboanga Peninsula (Western Mindanao) Information Officer Helen Galvez identified the German national as Harold Mol Ruphus, 60, a resident of the village of Ubay, Polanco, Zamboanga del Norte.

Galvez said Ruphus was found dead by his brother-in-law and neighbors around 2 p.m., Sunday, June 18, in his residence.

She said before he was discovered dead, the brother-in-law of the victim wondered why Ruphus’ house was still closed.

The brother-in-law informed their neighbors when he peeked through the window and saw Ruphus seated on a chair “with his mouth wide open.”

The neighbors forcibly opened and found out Ruphus was already dead.

Ruphus was alone in his residence since his Filipina wife is currently working in Germany.

Galvez said the police have already coordinated the municipal health office of Polanco to help them determine the cause of Ruphus’ death. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
