AN UNIDENTIFIED person riding a motorcycle seized a young girl in the island province of Basilan, the police reported on Monday, August 14.
Superintendent Jerome Afuyog, Isabela City police chief, identified the victim as Fatima Gampal Quisrina, 18, a resident of the village of Kaumpurnah Zone III, Isabela City.
Afuyog disclosed that the victim was abducted around 8:30 p.m., Sunday, August 13, in the village of Kaumpurnah Zone III.
Afuyog said investigation showed that the victim was together with her mother, Nurfaida Gampal Dangkalan, when an unidentified person blocked their path and forced her to board on a motorcycle and sped off.
The victim and her mother were on the way to buy medicine at the time of the incident.
The police chief said Dangkalan was injured since the suspect pushed her before grabbing the victim. The suspect have not yet communicated with the family of the victim.
Afuyog added that an investigation is underway to determine the identity of the suspect behind the incident. (SunStar Philippines)
