THIRTEEN people were injured when two vehicles collided along the highway in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, the police reported.
The Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Police Office said the accident happened around 3:30 p.m. Monday, September 11, at Sitio Kinner in the village of Lapaz, Naga town.
The police identified the victims as Alberto Moradas Jr., 16; Marina Maradas, 65; Floriefel Jaliol, 36; Abdallah Dappie, 37; Susana Geonzon, 52; Ronnie Quiamco Son, 50; Imelda Silutan, 51; Evelyn Sedorifa, 35; Mercedita Eribal, 62; Ma. Charito Eribal, 72; Romeo Eribal, 68; Gudelia Eribal, 68; and Leopoldo Eribal Jr., 67.
The police said the vehicles involved in the collision were a public utility jeepney driven by Shalde Asmad, 21, and a private-owned vehicle driven by Leopoldo.
The jeepney, loaded with eight passengers, was traveling from Ipil to Naga town, while the private car was going on the opposite direction.
Investigation showed that the accident happened after Leopoldo lost control of the car he was driving.
