Dynamite blast injures 3 in Basilan

A MAN and two kids were wounded in a dynamite explosion in Basilan province, the police reported Wednesday.

The Basilan Provincial Police Office said that the explosion happened around 6 p.m. Tuesday in the village of Tausan, Hadji Mutammad town, Basilan.

The police identified the businessman as Murabbi Appotoh Jalali, 35, while the identities of the two wounded children were not immediately known.

Jalali was wounded when the improvised dynamite he was fabricating accidentally exploded, the police said, adding that the two children were injured in the blast as they were playing near the house of Jalali.

The police said that Jalali is allegedly selling improvised dynamite to fishermen engaged in blast fishing in the waters of Hadji Mutammad town.
