3 injured in Zamboanga Sibugay bomb explosion

A MOTHER and her two children were injured in a bomb explosion in a remote village of Zamboanga Sibugay province, the police reported Wednesday.

The Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula reported that the incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. Monday in the village of Sto. Niño, Alicia town, Zamboanga Sibugay.

The police identified the injured victims as Melyn Sumaylo, 50, and her two children -- Leo, 17, and Levie Jane, 19.

Police investigation showed that the victims were asleep when they were awakened by a loud explosion. The victims were injured when debris from the explosion hit their house.

The police said investigation continues to identify the culprit.
