Tuesday, November 21, 2017

AN ALLEGED big time drug personality was arrested while P1.5 million worth of illegal drugs were seized in a drug bust operation in the province of Tawi-Tawi, an official announced on Tuesday, November 21.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Director Lyndon Aspacio identified the arrested suspect as Badang Awang Abdul, 40, tagged as newly-identified drug personality.

PDEA refers drug personality to either pusher or user of illegal drugs.

Aspacio disclosed that Abdul was arrested in a drug bust operation around 1 p.m., Monday, November 20, at Sitio Lungan Gihtung in the village of Lagasan, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi.

Aspacio said seized from the suspect’s possession were 300 grams of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride locally known as shabu packed in seven heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets worth PhP1.5 million and a rectangle box made of wood.

He said also recovered from Abdul’s possession was the P3,000 marked money used as drug bust money.

He said the suspect will be charged for violations of Section 5 (Selling of Illegal Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Illegal Drugs) of Article II of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

He said the drug bust operation was carried with the support of the police forces. (SunStar Philippines)
