6 arrested in anti-drug ops

SIX people were arrested in two separate drug operations in Zamboanga City, an official said on Tuesday, December 5.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Zamboanga Peninsula Director Lyndon Aspacio identified the arrested suspects as Jayvee Sigeue, 29; Jun Mark Sigeue, 28; Virginia Sigeue, 53; Analyn Sigeue, 32; Reynelyn Sabal, 33; and, Elmer Aniñon, 40.

Aspacio said that all except Aniñon were arrested in a drug bust around 11 p.m. Monday in the village of Putik.

Confiscated from the five suspects were five sachets of suspected shabu (crystal meth), illegal drug paraphernalia, and P500 marked money.

Cases for violations of Section 5 (Selling of Illegal Drugs), Section 11 (Possession of Illegal Drugs) and Section 12 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia), Article II of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) will be filed in court against the five suspects.

Aspacio said Aniñon was arrested in a drug bust around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday in Barangay Camino Nuevo.

Aspacio said confiscated from Aniñon were one gram of suspected shabu packed in 11 sachets with P3,500 cash, illegal drug paraphernalia, and P500 marked money.

He said the suspect will be charged for violating Section 5 (Selling of Illegal Drugs), Section 11 (Possession of Illegal Drugs) and Section 12 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia) of RA 9165’s Article II.

All of the suspects were detained, Aspacio added.
