Year-end bonus up for release-A A +A
Saturday, November 6, 2010
THE year-end bonus for government employees may be released not earlier than November 15, said an official of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) in Zamboanga Peninsula.
DBM Regional Director Alfonso Bedonia Jr. said they are only waiting for the guidelines from their central office, as a notice of fund allocation has been released and the fund intended for the bonus was already deposited in the account of the different government offices.
He said he sees nothing wrong if government offices would like to release the bonus earlier than November 15.
The government employees, he added, are also entitled to a productivity enhancement incentive aside from the year-end bonus.
The granting of the productivity enhancement incentive is contained in the total compensation framework of the Salary Standardization Law and Joint Senate and House Resolution 4, the official said.
Bedonia clarified that the National Government employees are entitled to receive the productivity enhancement incentive subject to the availability of fund or depends on the agency's saving.
He said each of the employees is entitled to get the incentive, which will not exceed P10,000.
Employees of the local government are also entitled to receive similar incentive, he added.
President Benigno Aquino III, however, still has to issue an administrative order for the release of the productivity enhancement incentive. (Bong Garcia)
