FOR the first time in 25 years, Zamboanga City will be hosting a national bowling tournament that would last for five days.
Lawyer Luis Climaco, president of Zamboanga Bowlers Association (Zamba) that will host the tournament, said the five-day competition will run from April 12-17 at Tebi and Sean Restaurant Center along Governor Camins Avenue in Zamboanga City.

The five-day bowling tourney is dubbed as the 33rd Federation of Duckpin Bowlers Association of the Philippines (Fedbop) National Championship Tournament, said Climaco.
The week-long event will showcase the country's top and upcoming pin busters in the men's and ladies' divisions, as well as the youth category, Climaco said.
He said the tournament will unfold with a parade of participants and officials in the morning of April 12 from City Hall to the Tebi and Sean Restaurant Center.
He said a program will follow with Mayor Celso Lobregat as the keynote speaker.
Climaco also said that second district Congressman Erico Basilio Fabian will be the guest of honor at the fellowship night scheduled to be held in the evening of April 12.
He said he is grateful to Lobregat and Fabian for their support as sponsor and co-sponsor, respectively.
He also acknowledged the support given to Zamba by Philippines Sports Commission Chairman Harry Angping. (Bong Garcia)
