Police officer dies, civilian injured

A TAWI-TAWI policeman was killed while his businessman-friend was wounded by one of the two motorcycle-riding men in Zamboanga City, police said.
Police identified the fatality as Senior Police Office I Pendatun Jahama, 37, who was assigned in Panglima Sugala, Tawi-Tawi.

Wounded was Jan Abdurahim, 50, a businessman from the town of Bongao, the capital of Tawi-Tawi province.
Initial investigation showed that the victims were walking to a coffee shop along Governor Camins Avenue coming from a food chain around 7:40 p.m. Sunday when shot by one of the two suspects aboard a motorcycle.
Senior Superintendent Edwin de Ocampo, Zamboanga City Police Office director, has ordered the conduct of an in-depth probe over the incident.
De Ocampo said he ordered the police to look into all possible motives of the incident to seize the suspects. (Bong Garcia)
