A LOCAL official of the Department of Education (DepEd) announced Tuesday that its office will conduct a summer class for pre-schoolers ages six and below.
City Division of Schools Superintendent Dolores Alcantara said the summer class is in line with DepEd’s nationwide project targeting five to six year-olds children.

Alcantara said the summer class followed a kindergarten curriculum approach. It would lessen the time of pre-schoolers from the regular eight-week to two months class. It also aimed to prepare the children to be enrolled in elementary for the next school year.
She encouraged the parents of pre-schoolers, especially those whose children have not undergone kindergarten classes, to enroll them in the summer class. (Bong Garcia)
