Zamboanga Judo Association interim president Ricardo Danilo Corteza said the tournament was held from March 5-6 at the Shek Kip Mei Park Sports Center, Kowloon, Hong Kong.
Corteza said the three were among the five players and two officials from Zamboanga City who were selected to join the Philippine contingent to the Hong Kong International Judo Tournament 2011.
Corteza said it was their first time to join in an international event after they showed outstanding performances in previous competitions.
The other members of the Philippine contingent were athletes from the University of the East, University of the Philippines, Ateneo de Manila University and the Philippine National Judo Team.
Meanwhile, Corteza is scheduled to leave for Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam in June to take his Judo Union of Asia (JUA) International Licensure Examination for Class A referee per recommendation made by Chow-Ngai Hung, the Referee Director of Southeast Asia and Singapore Judo Federation. (Bong Garcia)
