DAPITAN City, dubbed as the Shrine City of the Philippines, is ready to host the Palarong Pambansa 2011 from May 8 to 14.
Former Zamboanga del Norte first district representative Romeo Jalosjos, who chairs the Palaro 2011 executive committee, said all the facilities and venues for the different games would be finished "on time."

Jalosjos said that around P300 million from the contributions of the local government units of Zamboanga del Norte and neighboring provinces had already been spent for the construction of the Palarong Pambansa 2011 facilities.
Dapitan City Engineer Elmer Villoria, who heads the committees on sports facilities, playing venues and billeting, assured that all of the facilities will be ready on time.
Department of Education Secretary Armin Luistro earlier confirmed the venue of the Palarong Pambansa 2011 after his recent visit in the city.
Meanwhile, the four athletic delegations from the Eastern Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao and Caraga assigned earlier to be billeted in the far-flung towns of Manukan, Rizal and Roxas of Zamboanga del Norte will be housed in Dipolog City.
Dipolog City will accommodate seven athletic delegations with the transfer of the four. The other three delegations are from Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon and Calabarzon.
