SK basketball league playoff starts Tuesday

THE Inter-Cluster Playoff in the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Inter-Barangay Summer League Basketball Tournament 2011 reels-off Tuesday, May 10, at the covered court of Tumaga village, Zamboanga City.
Councilor Joanna Mari Mas, SK federation president, said Monday the playoff will see action the youth basketball teams that won in their respective cluster areas.

There are seven cluster areas and these are the following: Cluster-A (Central); Cluster-B (East Central); Cluster-C (West Central); Cluster-D (Solid North); Cluster-E (Near East); Cluster-F (Far East); and, Cluster-G (West Coast).
Mas said Tuesday's game schedule is as follows: Tumaga versus Sta. Barbara, first game; Talon-Talon versus Zambowood, second game; and, Baliwasan versus Ayala, third game.
Tumaga is the winner in Cluster-D (Solid North) when they defeated Pasonanca with a score of 71-52 while Sta. Barbara won in Cluster-A (Central) against Canelar with a score of 77-42 last Saturday.
Talon-Talon won last Saturday in Cluster-B (East Central) finals against Tetuan with a score of 63-51 while Zambowood defeated Mercedes last May 1 in Cluster-F (Far East) with a score of 54-35.
Baliwasan emerged as the winner in Cluster-C (West Central) when Campo Islam lost to them by nine points last Saturday with a score of 72-63 and Ayala is the winner in Cluster-G (West Coast).
On Wednesday, Mas said Baliwasan will square it off against Sta. Barbara in the first game, while Tumaga will face Ayala in the second game and third game will be Talon-Talon versus Vitali.
On Thursday, Tumaga will play against Baliwasan in the first game, Sta. Barbara versus Ayala in the second game and Zambowood versus Vitali in the third game.
The (SK) Inter-Barangay Summer League Basketball Tournament 2011 reeled-off last April 24 with the participation of 43 teams in seven cluster areas.
The summer basketball league for the youths is aimed to discover talents from the grassroots, Mas said.
