Zambo to host 2-day tennis tournament

A TWO-DAY open seniors lawn tennis tournament is set to be held in Zamboanga City, a local tennis enthusiasts said.
Zamboanga City Lawn Tennis Association president Ramon Saavedra said that over a hundred local tennis enthusiasts from nearby province are expected to participate in the tournament.

The tournament is scheduled from October 15 and 16 and will be sponsored by Congressman Erico Basilio Fabian (2nd district, Zamboanga Peninsula).
Saavedra said they have already sent invitations to tennis associations here in Zamboanga Peninsula, as well as to those in the provinces of Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi.
The tournament will be divided into three categories, namely 50 plus, 50 under and the mixed doubles, Saavedra said.
The two-day tournament is seen to foster friendly competition among senior tennis players, to keep them busy in match and to help them maintain health and stamina, he said.
