2 Azkals grace football festival

TWO members of the Philippine Azkals team will arrive in Zamboanga City Friday to grace the opening of a football tournament, which is part of the Zamboanga Hermosa Festival 2011 activities.
Chieffy Caligdong and Ian Araneta are coming with Philippine Air Force (PAF) chief Lieutenant General Oscar Rabena to grace the 9 a.m. opening of the Football festival at the Joaquin F. Enriquez Jr. Memorial Sports Complex.

Former Azkals team captain Mark Villon, who is a Zamboangueño, will also grace the event.
Mayor Celso Lobregat, who is a top football player during his younger days, said the conduct of the football festival will further promote the sport in the city.
The football festival will run from October 14 to 15 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and it is open to anyone who loves the game, male or female.
The age groups are the following: Under 6 (mix 4 v 4); Under 8 (mix 4 v 4); Under 10 (mix 4 v 4); Under 13 (Boys); Under 17 (Boys); Open (Men and Women) and Masters (Men).
Aside from PAF, other sponsors of the football festival are the City Government of Zamboanga, Globe Telecom, Nature’s Spring, Pepsi, Councilors Rommel Agan and Rogelio Valesco Jr., and the regional Department of Tourism. (Bong Garcia)
