2-day CLL Cup Golf Tournament kicks-off

AT LEAST 60 golf enthusiasts battle for the title in the different categories set in the two-day Mayor Celso L. Lobregat (CLL) Cup Golf Tournament, which reeled off Saturday at the Zamboanga Golf Course and Beach Park.

Now on its 8th year, the CLL Cup Golf tourney is one of the post-Fiesta Hermosa highlights and is organized by the City Government in cooperation with the Zamboanga Golf Club.

Lobregat together with Esguerra and Philippine Army 1st Division Commander Major General Ricardo Rainier Cruz III, led in the ceremonial tee off during simple opening rites.

The two-day golf tournament is sponsored by Pepsi, Sun Cellular and San Miguel.

Winners will be selected in the five categories set--class A, class B, Class C, Seniors’ and Guests.

Fiesta Hermosa 2012, which is themed “Mas Alegre na Zamboanga (It’s more fun in Zamboanga)” kicked off October 1st with a myriad of activities ranging from sports, agri-trade fair, conventions and congresses for the old and the young and various organizations, cultural presentations, beauty pageants, sail boat race, sardine-eating spectacle, chabacano song competition and most importantly the religious activities—all in honor of Nuestra Señora La Virgen del Pilar.

The golf tournament was preceded by the Zamboanga Football Festival.
