THE athletic delegation from Pagadian City has emerged as the champion in the recently-concluded Private Schools Athletic Association 2014 (Prisaa) held in Dipolog City.
Following Pagadian City is Zamboanga City, which had been the champion for the past 23 years, and third is Dipolog City.
Pagadian City garnered 58 gold medals, 57 silver and 28 bronze medals while Zamboanga City grabbed 54 golds, 64 silver and 34 bronze medals and Dipolog City 12 golds, five silver and 15 bronze medals.
Prisaa National Executive Director Elbert Atilano said Zamboanga City landed second since it did not field teams in football, softball, boxing and judo.
However, Atilano said the Zamboanga City delegation excelled in combative and individual sports to grab to second place.
The Prisaa 2014 was held in Dipolog City, the capital of Zamboanga del Norte last week from February 12 to 16.
Atilano said next year’s Prisaa regional games will be held in Pagadian City, the capital of Zamboanga del Sur. (Bong Garcia)
