Major Ramon David Hontiveros, spokesman of the Western Mindanao Command (Wesmincom), said the explosive components were seized around 9:45 a.m. Monday in a warehouse in the village of Lamion, Bongao, the capital of Tawi-Tawi.

Hontiveros said the troops learned about the explosive components hidden in a warehouse after they intercepted a man carrying a box of blasting caps and one meter of detonating cord in a checkpoint in the village of Lamion.
"The suspect from whom the items were seized pointed out to the warehouse," Hontiveros said, withholding the identity of the arrested suspect.
He said the troops swooped down on the warehouse and confiscated 3,700 blasting caps, 87 meters detonating cord, and seven boxes of cyanide.
He said the warehouse is owned by a certain Nasser.
Hontiveros said the military stationed in Bongao town is coordinating with the police for the filing of appropriate charges against Nasser. (Bong Garcia)
