Two drug pushers fall

PHILIPPINE Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) operatives have arrested two suspected drug pushers in Zamboanga City, an official said Monday.

PDEA Regional Director Adzhar Albani said the suspects were arrested in a buy bust operation around 4:30 p.m. Sunday in Sitio Balicas, Patalon village.

Albani identified the arrested suspects as Alex Sawaba, 30, and Mansul Sawaba, 34, both residents of Sitio Balicas, Patalon.

Albani said the Sawabas were arrested after they sold a small plastic sachet of shabu to a PDEA agent who pretended to be a buyer.

He said they confiscated from the suspects marked money, three packs containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, and other prohibited drug paraphernalia.

He said appropriate charges will be filed against the suspects who are detained at his headquarters.

Investigation is ongoing to determine the suspects' extent of operation in Zamboanga City, Albani said. (Bong Garcia)
