OPERATIVES of the Kabankalan City Police Station have arrested four suspected robbers in a manhunt operation on Friday, November 19, 2021, a day after they reportedly broke into a business establishment in Barangay Oringao, Kabankalan City.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Reymond Cruz, chief of Kabankalan City Police Station, identified the arrested suspects as Juniel Batomalaki, 20, Tony Batomalaki, 50, Jonel Batomalaki, 19, and Lade Balbon, 50, all residents of the barangay.

Cruz said the suspects broke into the El Familia Cafe around 11:30 p.m. Thursday, November 18, and was planning to rob the establishment’s sales for the day.

However, since the money was already kept, they instead took a box full of coffee products and a mobile phone owned by one of the employees, whose name was not disclosed, he said.

Cruz added that the suspects were positively identified by a concerned citizen.

The police official said one of the suspects later admitted to the crime as well as other robbery incidents in the city last month during interrogation. (SSB)
