A 26-YEAR-OLD man was found dead around 3 p.m. in Sitio Kampatoc, Barangay Dalid, Tabuelan town on Sunday, May 29, 2022.

Staff Sergeant Jerome Millor of Tabuelan Police Station identified the victim as Renerio Pañarez Jr., of Purok Romahan, Barangay 8, Tuburan town.

Millor said the victim, who was working in Sogod town, asked permission from his employer on Saturday at 10 p.m. to go home to Tuburan.

However, the following day at 3 p.m., he was found lying already dead beside his motorcycle by a passerby, who then alerted his relatives and neighbors.

Responding policemen believed that the victim died from a motorcycle accident and that there was no foul play involved in his death.

Dr. Marlo Therenz Marzan of Tabuelan municipal health unit also stated in his medical report that the victim succumbed to injuries from motorcycle accident.

The family of the victim signed a waiver against subjecting the victim to an autopsy as they were convinced that Pañarez died in an accident.

The area where Pañarez was found is far from the houses, thus nobody witnessed him when he reportedly fell off the cliff. (GPL, TPT)
