ELMO Traya looks to bounce from a slump as he takes on undefeated Chinese Wei Wei Liu for the World Boxing Foundation (WBF) Australasian super lightweight belt in a joint promotional show by Moneypunch and PMI Boxing on June 24, 2023 at the Consolacion Sports Complex in Consolacion, Cebu.

Traya struggled in his last two fights after coming off a two-year layoff during the Covid-19 pandemic. The 28-year-old Tabuelan native returned to the ring last June 6, 2022, and was knocked out by unbeaten Thai teen sensation Phoobadin Yoohanngoh in the second round in Bangkok, Thailand.

Traya fought again last March 10 and lost to Abdul Azizi Ssebulime by unanimous decision in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The 31-year-old Liu made his pro debut in 2019 and beat Yalaerbieke Adili by unanimous decision. Liu had two more wins in China before fighting his first international fight last April 30. He scored an eighth-round technical knockout of South Korean Hyun Woo Gang in Yesan, South Korea.

Traya, a former ALA Boy, is 12-5 with eight knockouts, while Liu is 4-0 with two knockouts. (EKA)
