Pastor arrested for alleged rape

A PASTOR with a standing warrant of arrest for rape was arrested by authorities for allegedly molesting a minor and making her a sex slave for eight years.

Edwin A. Villarin, 76, married, was charged with criminal cases for violation of qualified statutory rape with no bail recommended, qualified rape and acts of lasciviousness.

Police Senior Superintendent Alexander Tagum, Davao City Police Office (DCPO) director, said Villarin was arrested about 6:30 a.m. Thursday, February 14.

“Sinimulan nyang galawin yung bata when she was still six years old hanggang umabot na ito ng 14 years old. Ginawang sex slave ang bata,” Tagum said.

The arrest warrant was served by Senior Police Officer (SPO1) Felipe Tiu Jr. and PO1 Julius Guardian, warrant officer of San Pedro Police Station.

As of Friday, the suspect has been transferred to Davao City Jail.
