55 partylists to claim House seats

FIFTY-FIVE partylist groups are set to be proclaimed later Thursday, May 26, by the Commission on Elections (Comelec), which is sitting as the National Board of Canvassers (NBOC), at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City.

In an advisory, the Comelec bared the names of partylists invited to attend the proclamation ceremonies Thursday afternoon.

"The Commission on Elections will proclaim the winning partylist groups on Thursday, 4 o'clock in the afternoon, at the PICC Forum Tent, Pasay City," the poll body said.

The 55 partylists to be proclaimed are:

The Comelec advised the winning organizations that they are entitled to send a maximum of two representatives per partylist during the ceremonies.

The ones attending the proclamation are also advised to wear Filipino clothing.

On Wednesday, May 25, the NBOC completed the canvassing of votes after the transmission of the Certificate of Canvass from Lanao del Sur.

Subsequently, the NBOC announced that winning partylist groups are set to be proclaimed Thursday afternoon.

The number and names of groups to be proclaimed, however, have yet to be identified by the Comelec, as of Wednesday night, May 25.

To note, a total of 63 partylist seats are expected to be filled up in the House of Representatives. (SunStar Philippines)
