70-year-old widow shot dead in Ormoc City

A 70-YEAR-OLD widow was shot dead inside her residence in Ormoc City Tuesday evening, January 12, 2021.

Police identified the victim as Milagros Toralba, a resident of Purok 3, Barangay Cagbuhangin, Ormoc.

A hot pursuit operation also led to the immediate arrest of the suspect, Jochel Pelayo, who is a resident of Barangay Masarayao, Kananga, Leyte.

Investigation disclosed that the victim was taking a rest in her residence around 6:50 p.m. Tuesday when the suspect suddenly arrived and shot her using an unknown caliber of firearm.

The victim was hit on her head that resulted in her instantaneous death.

In an initial report, police said they are looking into personal grudge as the possible motive in the shooting. (SunStar Philippines)
