PDEA dismantles drug den in Zamboanga City

OPERATIVES of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) backed by policemen have arrested six people as they dismantled a drug den in Zamboanga City, an official said Monday, February 15.

PDEA Regional Director Emerson Margate said the drug den was dismantled in a law enforcement operation around 7 p.m. Sunday, February 14, in Sitio Barigon, Tugbungan village, Zamboanga City.

Margate identified the arrested suspects as Jomar Suico, Jesus Quinol, Jayson Sarmiento, Jayzon Castillo, Andy Esperitusanto and Bert Marquez.

Margate said Suico is the maintainer of the drug den while all the other arrested suspects were his clients.

Confiscated from the drug den were 41 grams of shabu packed in 12 heat-sealed plastic sachets with an estimated worth of P278,800.

He said cases for violation of Sections 6, 7, 11, 12, 13, and 14, Article II of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being readied against the suspects. (SunStar Zamboanga)
