THE City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) is expected to start next week the payout of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) to the intended beneficiaries in Zamboanga City.

CSWDO Head Ma. Socorro Rojas said that the payout will start once the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) completes its validation of the beneficiaries.

The CSWDO has started Thursday, April 9, the conduct of the orientation about the National Government’s SAP).

Rojas said the orientation on the program was held in the villages of Lumbangan and Lumayang, pilot areas for the distribution of SAP cards in this city.

Rojas said the orientation is in preparation for the house-to-house distribution of the SAP cards to the identified beneficiaries.

The regional office of the DSWD said that there are 116,518 identified SAP beneficiaries in this city.

The SAP is aimed to cushion the impact of work suspensions on the poor and vulnerable sectors amid the enhanced community quarantine due to the coronavirus disease pandemic. (SunStar Philippines)
