CIT-U ends losing streak, beats USC

THE Cebu Institute of Technology-University (CIT-U) Wildcats ended their losing streak on Saturday after stunning the University of San Carlos (USC) Warriors, 78-70, in Cesafi 2016 Men's Basketball Tournament at the New Cebu Coliseum.

The Wildcats was trailing the first three quarters of the game entering the fourth quarter 57-53 Warriors lead.

The Wildcats, however, got their rhythm in the fourth quarter with five players ending the game with double-digit points, giving the Wildcats their first win in 10 games. They now have a 1-9 (win-loss) record.

Marlo Pono led the Wildcats with 12 points, followed by Kint Ariar and John Lucena with 11 points both, and Kelvin Maglasang and Steven Bucao with 10 apiece.

The Warriors, however, tried to keep up with the Wildcats but fell short to the latter's fanatic defense, despite of Kevin Oleodo's 19 big points, followed by Scothy Ntumba with 15 and Ian Tagapan with 12. They now have a 5-6 (win-loss) record.
