CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- A notorious drug dealer believed to be the source of several drug personalities in Bulacan was arrested by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Central Luzon in a buy-bust operation inside a mall in Malate Manila on Tuesday evening.
PDEA-3 Director Emerson Margate identified the suspect as Edmenies B. Batayola alias Jay-Ar, 25, single and resident of #214 C Remy St., Park Ave., Libertad, Pasay City.
Margate said Batayola who has been a target of Oplan Tokhang, was known to be a big-time pusher in Bulacan and had been in PDEA’s radar since May 2016 but transferred his residence in Pasay to avoid apprehensions from authorities.
“PDEA-3 agents were able to negotiate with the suspect for the sale of 100 grams of shabu for P200,000 and agreed to meet inside the mall in Malate where he was arrested,” Margate added.
Confiscated from the suspect were one piece knot-tied transparent ice bag containing 101.9006 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu with an estimated street value of P400,000 and the marked money used in the sting.
The suspect was brought to the PDEA Jail Facility in Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga. Charges for violation of section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs) and section 15 (use of dangerous drugs) will be filed against Batayola. (Glen Guillermo/PDEA-3)
