NINE persons were arrested by the anti-gambling group at Bucana, Davao City on Saturday afternoon.
The arrest came after the San Pedro Police Station (SPPS) received a text message through the PNP Hotline from a concerned citizen regarding the rampant illegal gambling activities at Seawall, Barangay 76-A, Bucana, Davao City.
Around 4 p.m., September 24, the police officers were able to apprehend nine persons namely John Paul Lava, 37, Flor Alano, 50, Philip Ramo, 26, Manuel Aro, 40, Kaye Mendoza, 20, Anna Jane Lador, 20, Janice Berte, 28, Mary Ann Catao, 36 and Roger Servantes, 30, who were caught playing mahjong.
Police recovered gambling paraphernalia that were used in the illegal operation and confiscated two sets of Mahjong dice and P240 bet money.
The arrested individuals are now temporarily detained at SPPS.
