THE arraignment of the guardians of the murdered three-year-old boy last August 24 is set on the third week of October.
The Regional Trial Court Branch 54, moved the arraignment of parricide and murder charges filed against the mother and stepfather of Kean Gabriel Agustin, Grace Gilaga Agustin and Sonny Boy Rocabura Mendoza from its original schedule last second week of September to October 17.
It can be recalled that the Davao City Prosecutor's Office, in a resolution dated August 30, had indicted the two after finding probable cause to hail them to court.
The child allegedly died by sustaining injuries after he was placed in a sack and was repeatedly hit with a wood by his stepfather.
The two suspects initially brought the child to the barangay for help, and used the barangay mobile to bring the child to Southern Philippines Medical Center but the child was dead upon arrival.
The stepfather also allegedly lied about the cause of unconsciousness of the child by saying that the child drowned, and also when later asked for confirmation said that the child fell from somewhere.
The complainants consist of the barangay officials who eared around during the incident, also a seven-year-old witness, identified as Kean's sister, confirmed that she saw her brother being tied up inside a sack. (KVC)
