P200,000 worth of damage in Barangay Calamba fire

A MORNING fire struck a three-story building on Lucio Drive, Barangay Calamba, Cebu City, on Friday, September 30.

The Bureau of Fire Protection received the alarm at 10:28 a.m. It was later raised to a second alarm, but was contained after 15 minutes.

Senior Fire Officer 2 Roldan Delos Reyes said the blaze started at the room of Jefferson Uy. An unattended electric fan was believed to have caused it.

Fire investigators pegged the damage at P200,000.


No one was reported injured.

The lower part of the building was used as a scrap yard while the upper part housed the family members. (JOB/SunStar Cebu)
