12-hour blackout to hit some parts in Oro on Sunday

A 12-HOUR power interruption will be implemented by Cagayan Electric Power and Light Company, Inc. (Cepalco) on Sunday, October 2.

In an advisory released by Cepalco, the distribution utility will cut power in some areas to facilitate line maintenance of its 34.5KV line along CM Recto Avenue from Mindanao University of Science and Technology (Must) to Osmeña street.

The blackout will start from 6 a.m. and will last until 6 p.m.

Areas affected are Metro Bank and Bajolo Building corner Agora up to corner Corrales Avenue including Barangay 26, China Bank, Shakey's, Must, Red Planet, One Avenue, Magnum Radio, Metz Arcade, Knights of Columbus, Centrio Ayala Mall, Nazareno Church, and along Osmeña Extension towards Doña Emeteria Commercial Building up to Blu Energy Gas station.

Also affected are Osmeña St. from corner CM Recto to Cogon up to Corner Hayes St., JR Borja St. and Yacapin St. bounded by Capt. V. Roa and Roxas Sts, portion of Limketkai Drive from Osmeña St to LKKS-Shell including Pearlmont and Conchita Hotels, Mallberry Suites Hotel and Discovery Hotel.

Another 1 hour and 30 minutes power switching will be implemented from 6 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. and from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Affected areas include portions of Camaman-an near and including towards Manto to San Jose and St. Vianney Seminaries, greater portion of Camaman-an proper towards Bontong, Bolonsori up to Upper Camaman-an, Ayesa Subdivision including Tipolohon, and a small portion of Sta. Cruz 1, Lapasan along Camaman-an road.

Cepalco said it will restore power immediately even earlier than scheduled when line and switching works are completed. (AS)
