ONE died while two others were injured after a truck crashed into two vehicles along Lower Brookside, M. Roxas Street Friday evening.
The victim was identified as Raymund Del Rosario Espelita, 53 years old, businessman and a resident of Holyghost Extension while the injured were identified as 28-year-old Ann Bakisan, videographer and a resident of M. Roxas and Wilma Pascua, 35 years old, housewife and a resident of Imelda Village.
Based on initial investigation, the truck driven by 29-year-old Ricky Marcelo Willy from Tawang La Trinidad, Benguet was traversing M. Roxas Street when he lost control of the wheels due to lose break and bumped the rear end portion of a jitney driven by Ariel Batac Estocapio, 53 years old and a resident of M. Roxas Street who was then unloading some passengers.
After the collision with the jitney, Willy added his truck also hit an SUV parked on the road driven by Larivic Bermudez Morzo from Sampaloc, Manila.
All victims were later rushed to the hospital while Willy is currently detained at the Baguio City Police Station 6 and will be charged for reckless imprudence resulting to homicide, multiple physical injuries and multiple damage to properties.
In La Trinidad, a supposed land deal turned bloody after Milo Duclan Lupadit was shot by his drinking buddy Daniel Agadang Damlosen Friday noon in barangay Lubas.
Based on police reports, Lupadit together with Damlosen and Arnel Espiritu were having a drinking session when the suspect and victim got into a heated argument over a supposed sale of land by Damlosen.
Both suspect and victim continued their argument with Lupadit picking up a bolo and challenged Damlosen to a fight.
The police report added the suspect tried to cool down by staying away from the victim but Lupadit allegedly pursued Damlosen to his residence and was eventually shot by an air gun rifle converted to caliber . 22.
Lupadit was later on rushed to Benguet General Hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the physician.
C/Insp. Radino Belly, chief of the La Trinidad Municipal Police Station said a barangay official later tried to negotiate for the surrender of Damlosen was able to escape from authorities despite pleas from authorities.
Police are now undergoing manhunt operation against the suspect who will be charged with murder.
