33 drug users finish wellness camp

ABOUT 33 moderate drug users from different towns and cities in Negros Occidental finished on October 1 the seven-day drug rehabilitation program dubbed Wellness Camp held at the 303rd Infantry Brigade headquarters in Murcia town.

The participants, who came from the municipalities of Hinigaran, llog, Murcia, Manapla, and Pontevedra, and the cities of Himamaylan and Escalante, surrendered to the police through the Operation Tokhang. They belong to the second batch of graduates of the wellness camp.

The participants said they are thankful for being part of the wellness camp being implemented by the Provincial Government because it helped them change their illegal ways.

Colonel Francisco Delfin, commander of the 303rd Brigade, lauded the participants for their determination that enabled them to successfully finish the wellness camp.

Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator Ma. Lina Sanogal, action officer of the Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council, urged the participants to pursue their dreams and serve as counselors of their friends who are still involved in illegal drug activities. (PR)
