2 dead in stabbing incidents in Negros Occidental

TWO persons were stabbed to death in separate incidents in Negros Occidental over the weekend, according to police reports.

In Talisay City, the fatality was identified as Samuel Rydres, 26, of Barangay San Fernando.

Rydres, a construction worker was stabbed by Paolo Azucena, 26, at Barangay Zone 10, on Sunday, the police said.

Initial investigation showed that Rydres, Azucena, and another companion were having a drinking session in the house of Azucena's neighbor when the incident happened.

Rydres asked permission from Azucena to go home, but the latter stabbed him using a 13-inch knife. The victim sustained stab wounds on his left chest and right arm and was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police records showed.

In Bacolod City, pedicab driver Angelito Llanes, 26, was stabbed by another driver at Sharina Heights in Barangay Taculing on Saturday.

Chief Inspector Jovil Sedel, head of Police Station 6, said Llanes was having a drinking session with a certain “Bobby” of Kabankalan City, and two others when a heated argument ensued between the victim and Bobby.

Llanes sustained a lone stab wound and was brought to the hospital, where he was declared dead.

Sedel said Llanes was released from the national penitentiary in Munitinlupa City after he served his murder case in 2014.
