Elizabeth Baybayan, head of the Provincial Social Welfare And Development Office disclosed that there are 534 active day care workers working in 533 day care centers in the whole province.
The administration has extended monthly financial assistance to DCWs amounting to P500 each in 2011 and P1,000 in 2012 and finally, they are now receiving a monthly allowance of P1,500 each this year.
To boost their morale and encourage them to work hard, the PSWDO regularly meets the day care worker federation presidents, monitor their day care services and immediately respond to the needs of DCWs.
"With the support of Governor Pineda, when it comes to child development, day care centers in the province are no longer just four bare corners of the room. With efficient day care workers, it is now a conducive place for developing the whole being of the day care children," Baybayan added. (Aida B. Bungue/Pampanga PIO)
