Precious at 90
CARMEN Hermosisima Lizares turned 90 last September 26. It was a special day for someone super special, for her kids especially. Tita Carmen is a wonderful combination of warmth, kindness, laughter, and love. And her children made this distinctive day extraordinary by their presence, their preparation, their gifts of appreciation and love.
Daughter Pamela came in a few weeks ahead with daughter Risha and granddaughter Janei from Las Vegas. For the blessed event, Ana Marie and Gizela and daughter Gab came in the day before from Seattle and Los Angeles, respectively.
Those who couldn’t make it to their Mom’s, Lola’s or Greatgrandma’s birthday sent video clips of heartfelt birthday messages.
Tita Carmen has been widowed half of her life and her life journey has had its twists and turns, but nonetheless followed through with much success time and time again.
With eight children, Rene, Mae, Pamela, Cristine, Victor, Anna Marie, Bernard, and Gizela, half of whom are living in different parts of the United States, thoughts of their Mom whether near or far, always makes them feel loved. Often, they catch themselves doing something right and they realize that it was she who taught them to do it.
As they themselves come to maturity, there are times when the world gives them a cold shoulder, but there’s nothing like her warm hugs to make everything alright again. Yes, sometimes we forget how amazing Moms are, and especially at 90. The success, the happiness, the love experienced by the children have been anchored by her faith. Indeed what a fantastic Mom! It may take a little while to blow all the 90 candles shining so bright. They are lit in honor of someone who has inspired them over the years!
The party was fun and wacky, with crowns and hilarious eyeglasses for all, luminous gels, and much, much more provided for the guests.
Tita Carmen loves dancing and definitely she showed her moves. Since the children and the family love to dance as well, there was much twirling and swinging.
