DTI national offices to bring services to Iloilo

AT LEAST eight functional offices of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) based in Metro Manila, which has no regional offices to render their specific services, will come over to Iloilo City on October 10 to 12.

DTI national offices will offer their services to mostly small and medium enterprises (SMEs) through direct consultations, investment briefing and counseling, program blitz, business matching, buying and selling encounter and innovation hub promotion, discussions on consumer protection, intellectual property rights and others.

This was revealed by DTI Regional Director Rebecca Rascon as the Western Visayas region will also present the best products of the region in the Panublion Region Fair as a venue for business matching and buying and selling missions.

The Negosyo Konsumer at Iba Pa will have a grand opening on Monday, October 10, and technical sessions at the Iloilo Convention Center while the regional fair will be held at SM City Iloilo activity center.

DTI Secretary Ramon Lopez may grace the opening program or the closing program of the activities depending on the schedule of the cabinet secretary.

Similarly, Rascon said the Negosyo Center for the second district of Iloilo will launched on October 12 in the municipality of Pavia, Iloilo.

DTI is planning to put up a Negosyo Center in each congressional district of the province before the end of the year.

Negosyo Centers were already operational in the municipality of Miagao, Iloilo for the use of first district investors and businessmen, and in Passi City to serve the needs of SMEs in the fourth district.

Another Negosyo Center will be established in the municipality of Lambunao to serve the needs of SMEs in the third district while a Negosyo Center will also be established in the fifth district.

Last week, the Iloilo Provincial Capitol opened its own Negosyo Center.
