2 target suspects, 6 others nabbed in drug bust

EIGHT men, including two targeted drug personalities in Negros Occidental, were arrested in separate drug bust in the past two days.

The eighth drug suspect under the target list of Victorias City Police Station was arrested on Tuesday after he sold shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) to a police agent for P200.

Police identified the suspect as Ruben Arcete Jr., 26, of Zone 5, Estrella Village, Barangay 6.

Arcete yielded five sachets of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia, P569 cash, cellular phone, and the P200 marked money.

In Bago City, Marvin Vinegas, 19, of Barangay Calumangan, and Dave Alcantara, 30, of Barangay Poblacion, were arrested in a drug bust on Wednesday.

Police records showed that Vinegas is under the city's target drugs list while Alcantara is a newly-identified drug personality.

Operatives recovered two sachets of shabu worth P1,000, P455 cash, the P200 marked money, and a motorcycle.

In Binalbagan town, Jerry Dedase, 43, of Barangay Payao, and Isidore Quima, 35, of Barangay Cabadiangan were arrested on Wednesday that led to the recovery of two sachets of shabu, the P250 marked money, drug paraphernalia, and four rounds of live ammunition of 9mm.

In Escalante City, Edgardo Apas, 43, of Barangay Balintawak was collared at Purok Mahogany, Barangay Japitan on Tuesday after he yielded four sachets of shabu worth P4,000, drug paraphernalia, and the P1,000 marked money.

In Hinigaran town, Arlo Egang, 35, of Coruña Street, Barangay III, was arrested on Thursday, after he yielded three sachets of shabu, drug paraphernalia, cellular phone, P650 cash, and the P300 marked money.

Egang was also subjected to a drug bust last June, but he was able to escape.

In Bacolod City, a woman was arrested for sale and possession of illegal drugs on Thursday.

Senior Inspector Ramel Bustamante, chief of City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group, identified the suspect as Roma Amor Treyes, 38, of Talisay City.

Treyes sold shabu to a police agent for P200 at Purok Sigay, Barangay 2 at about 5 p.m. Police recovered from Treyes 20 sachets of shabu with an estimated value of P20,000.
